How to make a CV on your phone, for free
You don't have to open a laptop for it. You can make a CV right on your phone. Here's how, step by step, with a few tips for the small screen.
Many people apply from their phone these days, in between other things. So your CV has to work from there too. It can: the CVontwerper builder works in your phone's browser, with no app and no account. Below are six steps.
1. Gather your details first
Typing on a phone is slower than on a keyboard, so it pays to know in advance what you're going to fill in: your jobs with dates, your education and your diplomas. Open your LinkedIn profile or old CV in another window or in your notes, so all you have to do is copy across.
2. Already have a CV? Upload it
In the builder you can upload an existing CV as a PDF, Word file (.docx) or text file. We read your details and load them into the builder, and your file is not stored anywhere, only processed temporarily to read the text. Afterwards, always check your name, email address and phone number, because no parser is perfect.
3. Work section by section and switch to the preview
On a narrow screen you can't see the form and the preview side by side. That's why there's a switch at the top between 'Edit' and 'Preview'. Fill in one section, for example your work experience, switch to the preview and see how it falls. That's nicer than filling in everything and only looking at the end.
4. Use dictation and pasting for long passages
